General Music -- Grade 3

3rd grade students will continue working on developing their understanding of steady beat through various songs, activities and musical games.  Students will expand their knowledge of reading and writing rhythms and their understanding of time signatures and meter.  Students will also learn about the different instrument families.  There will be a continued focus on singing, with a focus on pitch, melody, harmony and partner signing, as well as playing a variety of percussion instruments together and alone. Concepts will be reinforced and expanded upon through various songs, dances, listening experiences and musical games and activities.
