Meet Ms. Hashem
Hi, I am Sarah Hashem and this is my eighth year at Northwood School! I received my Bachelors of Music degree in Music Education and Music Therapy from Nazareth College in Rochester, NY in December 2013. After finishing my undergraduate studies, I completed a six month music therapy internship, working with the Mount Desert Island Hospital Organization in Bar Harbor, Maine. I worked at the Don and Beth Straus Adult Day Center and Birch Bay Retirement Village, providing music therapy services to older adults with physical and cognitive disabilities. Prior to joining Team Northwood, I was a long term music teacher at Pelham Memorial School in Pelham, NH, teaching middle school band and instrumental lessons and at Hopkinton Middle High School in Hopkinton, NH, teaching 7 - 12 music. In 2018, I completed my Masters of Music from the University of Florida.
In my spare time, I enjoy reading, being outside, going to the beach and spending time with family, friends and my yellow lab, Dakota. I also continue to be an avid performer. I played euphonium with the Nevers' Second Regiment Band, based in Concord, NH for the last 10 years. Recently, I have started playing with the Kearsarge Community Band, based out of New London, NH and Gilford Community Band in Gilford, NH.
I am very excited to be working with the students and staff at Northwood School this year and look forward to a great year ahead!
